The topic of the upcoming Technical Afternoon of EFRIARC – the Portuguese Association of Industrial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers – is “HVAC Installations in Hospital Operating Rooms: From Design to Utilization.” The seminar will take place at the Ramada Lisbon Hotel onMarch 26. During this event, experts will discuss the specific characteristics of HVAC installations in hospital operating rooms, covering aspects from conception to practical use. Topics will include ventilation and filtration principles, physical and microbiological testing for initial qualification, and the implications of ongoing activity in the operating room for HVAC system maintenance.

🏆 Proud to announce the Inovação em Saúde Award at the Saúde Sustentável Awards for our HARMONICS project! 🏆 João Sargento Freitas, Coordinator of the CHUC Stroke Unit, explains how this project aims to transform the patient experience during the transition home after a stroke. "We seek to improve the patient's experience in transitioning home after hospital discharge, maintaining a high level of monitoring, follow-up, and closeness in an extra-hospital environment, through a digital application," explains Sargento Freitas. The transition home after a stroke is a critical period and is often a focus of dissatisfaction with healthcare. The implementation of high-value care with the HARMONICS project is harmonizing processes, indicators, and variables centered on clinical metrics and reported by patients. This not only enhances the patient experience but also improves long-term clinical outcomes and the effectiveness of the healthcare system. The success of this phase paves the way to expand this concept to other regions and countries in the European Union.
