As discussed in our previous post, nearly every two in five Canadians have - or will - experience cancer in their lifetime 👩🏾🦲, and there are options available for you and your family 👨🏻👦🏻. Long-Term Disability insurance👨🏾🦽💵 is the type that you would want to look into in this instance, as it will cover a percentage of your salary if you're unable to work for a long period of time 🕰️ - either due to cancer or because you must care for 🦮 someone who has cancer. Canadians who have long-term disability coverage may be eligible for income replacement benefits while they are experiencing cancer symptoms 🤒, caring for someone with cancer 🫂, undergoing treatment 💉🩻, etc. They also may be eligible to receive Long Term Disability Employment Insurance (EI) from the Government of Canada 🏛️🇨🇦 as long as their doctor advises that they are unable to work. For those who must leave work to care for a spouse 👩🏻❤️👨🏾👶🏽, child, etc. who are diagnosed with cancer, there are even more options available. Don't worry though!
